JO Playbook, including Reading Defenses and Football 101 ("we," "our," or "us"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile applications.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Information You Provide
- Account Information: Email address and password when you create an account
- Profile Information: Display name (optional)
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: Lessons completed, quiz scores, and learning progress
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version
- Analytics: Records of how the app is used, such as opening Game Day or completing a lesson, to improve the app and measure our marketing. Each event is stored individually with a random installation identifier generated on your device (not your account, name, email, device serial, or Apple ID), your app version and platform, and the campaign that brought you to the app (when you arrived via one of our links). We do not combine analytics events with your account data. Reinstalling the app creates a new identifier.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- Location data
- Contacts or address book
- Photos or media
- Financial information (payments processed by Apple)
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use collected information to:
- Provide and maintain the app
- Track your learning progress across devices
- Improve our content and features
- Send important updates about the app (with your permission)
DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY
- Your data is stored securely on encrypted servers
- We use industry-standard security measures
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties
- Analytics events are stored as individual records and reported in aggregate for product and marketing measurement; reinstalling the app resets the random installation identifier
ASK THE COACH (FOOTBALL 101)
Ask the Coach is an optional feature for signed-in users who confirm they are 18 or older and accept the disclosure shown in the app.
- Your questions are sent to OpenAI to check them for safety and to generate answers. OpenAI may retain inputs for up to about 30 days for abuse monitoring.
- We store your questions, linked to your account, for up to 90 days to operate and improve the Coach. Automated safety classifications of your questions and answers are kept for up to 170 days. Records of when you asked and whether an answer was given, without your question text, are kept while your account is active.
- Answers are not stored. If you report an answer, we keep a copy of that answer and your reason to review the report, for up to 170 days.
- Voice input is transcribed on your device. Audio is not sent to us or to OpenAI.
- You can revoke your consent at any time in Settings. Deleting your account deletes your Coach questions and reports.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
We use the following third-party services:
- Apple App Store: For app distribution and in-app purchases
- RevenueCat (Football 101): Manages in-app purchase status. RevenueCat receives your purchase records from Apple and a random identifier for your account (not your name or email).
- OpenAI (Football 101): Processes Ask the Coach questions to check them for safety and generate answers, as described above.
- Analytics: We operate our own analytics service (no third-party analytics SDK). Your IP address is used briefly to limit abuse and is not stored with analytics events.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Our apps are rated 4+ and are safe for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The apps can be used without creating an account. Ask the Coach is available only to users who confirm they are 18 or older.
YOUR RIGHTS
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Delete your account and associated data
- Opt out of promotional communications
- Export your progress data

DATA RETENTION
- Account data is retained while your account is active
- You may delete your account at any time from the app settings
- Ask the Coach questions are kept for up to 90 days (see Ask the Coach above)
- Analytics data may be retained for up to 2 years. It is not linked to your account, and reinstalling the app resets the random installation identifier it carries
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date.
